Nutritional Therapy

My Nutritional Therapy

My Nutritional Therapy uses a Functional Medicine approach to help you find your best health. Functional Medicine is an evolution in healthcare that better addresses the healthcare needs of our times. It is proactive, predictive, personalised and empowers you to be active in your own health.

How Does it Work?

Root Cause

My focus is to address the underlying cause(s) of your ill health, not just your symptoms, which I do using a systems biology approach. This means I look at your whole body’s ecosystem, not just an isolated set of symptoms.

Systems Approach

I spend time listening to your history and looking at genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors to understand how and why your body’s ecosystem may have been thrown out of balance, culminating in the expression of unwanted symptoms and your loss of wellness.

I always work one-to-one with you because I recognise that everyone is biochemically different, which means your healthcare should be too. Working together we’ll agree a bespoke nutrition and lifestyle plan to help your body to re-balance and transform your health. This will be much more beneficial than generic advice you may find elsewhere.

‘Your fork, the most powerful tool to transform your health and change the world.’

Dr Mark Hyman. Functional Medicine Doctor.

The results can be extraordinary!  I’ve helped people with chronic conditions and symptoms that range from mildly inconvenient to debilitating.

‘You have changed [our] lives for the better. We are extremely grateful.’

My Nutritional Expertise

I work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and health conditions. In addition to these my fields of speciality are:

Nutrition for Vegetarians and Vegans

I ate meat until I was 21 and have been vegetarian for 21 years and counting. That’s a lot of experience of different dietary approaches!

Combining my own rich personal experience with my professional expertise, I’m well informed to guide you through following any dietary approach along the continuum between vegan, vegetarian and omnivorous in a balanced way, as well as other special diets such as lactose, allergen or gluten free.

Whether you are in need of a dietary MOT to make sure your diet is nutritionally optimal, or you are unwell and unsure if/how a more plant-based diet might benefit, I’m here to guide you.

Nutrition for Good Gut Health

As a Nutritional Therapist, I prioritise gut health because a well-functioning digestive system is the cornerstone to the health of your entire body.

When the digestive system isn’t functioning well symptoms such as reflux, bloating, cramp, wind, diarrhoea and constipation can arise. What’s more problems in the gut can be the source of seemingly unrelated symptoms throughout the body. The gut is implicated in most allergic and autoimmune diseases, as well as illnesses ranging from depression, eczema and fatigue. When the root cause is addressed, these other symptoms often improve.

If your gut is making you sick, allow me to help you rebalance the health of your gut with a bespoke nutrition and lifestyle plan. I may suggest strategic food supplements, or particular tests to help explore your gut function. Tests can help remove the ‘guesswork’ in terms of supporting your digestive system to rebalance, and can yield faster more successful outcomes.
